Paul McCarthy’s sinister interpretation of the Disney classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is presented in two sets of drawings - one large, on small– in the exhibition: White Snow. The first set, black and white intimate sketches of a young Snow White masturbating, and her phallic nosed dwarfs serve as the catalyst for the exhibition’s other set - a dozen massive 7 - 10 foot colorful drawings. Using wide, gestural marks, and combining pages torn from auction catalogues, illustrated books, tabloids and pornographic magazines, these “canvases” are the comedic, wicked half of the show, and McCarthy’s tour de force in his first exhibition of only works on paper.
