Tauba Auerbach: Here and Now/And Nowhere
Tauba Auerbach’s optical paintings and photographs exist between the realms of two and three dimensionality. For her first solo show at Deitch, Auerbach presents five complimentary bodies of work: crumple and fold paintings; static photographs; a sculpture that exists half inside and half outside the gallery; and the centerpiece of the exhibition–the monumental Auberglass, a fabricated life-size organ that the artist performed on during the opening, and will be played daily at 5pm from Tuesday through Saturday throughout the duration of the exhibition.
